Suitable for absolute beginners or for those students who are more comfortable with a slower paced, more focused class. Also suitable for advanced practitioners who wish to deepen their experience and knowledge of postures..
Suitable for students who have completed at least 10 beginners classes (discuss with your teacher to see if you are ready!) or those who have been practising yoga for at least 3-6 months. Usually referred to as mixed levels in the timetable, options are given for those who would like more of a challenge.
This class focuses on exploring postures that build strength, stretch and tone the body, while also learning techniques to enable you to relax, restore and revive. Features of this class include: asana posture movement (including modifications where necessary); breathing practices which can expand and tone the respiratory system; meditation which encourages mindfulness and focus; relaxation to calm the mind and restore the body. If you suffer from stress in your daily life, fatigue, poor posture or back pain this class is for you.

In this energetic class hatha yoga postures are sequenced together to allow fluid movement from one pose to the next using breath awareness. All asanas are explored during the class including hip and shoulder opening, spinal movement, core strengthening & balancing postures. Modifications are offered for beginners and those suffering from injury. More advanced postures are also explored as students gain more experience and wish to bring challenge to their practice.
Yin yoga consists of a series of long-held, passive floor poses that mainly work the lower part of the body – the hips, pelvis, inner thighs, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in connective tissues. The poses are held for up to five minutes, sometimes longer. Practice of Yin yoga can Reduce stress and anxiety, Improve flexibility, Release fascia and improves joint mobility resulting in balance and calmness for both mind and body.
Yoga for the Active Retired
This class encourages gentle movement designed to create flexibility, strength and to mobilise the joints. The body is supported (where necessary) using props including foam blocks, bricks, chairs, belts and blankets. Anyone suffering from injury or illness can learn techniques to help deal with pain and to bring a sense of calm to the mind. During the class we explore a variety of yoga postures and breathing techniques that promote healing. Suitable for all levels.
Yogalates combines the best of two exercise regimes – Yoga and Pilates. It is an invigorating class that works the whole body. Yogalates classes take the strength and flexibility exercises of a yoga class and combines them with core strengthening, spine elongating and posture perfecting exercises of Pilates. The combination of both helps you not only achieve a strong, flexible body but it will help you look slimmer, toned and healthier, with a relaxed sense of well-being. Yogalates will leave you feeling revitalised in body and mind.
