Yoga can be deeply relaxing and has been found to help its students reconnect with themselves. By learning relaxation techniques and practising breath work, students of yoga can use these tools in daily life to help deal with stress, depression and loss.
Yoga, meaning the union of body, breath and mind has been practised as a way of life for centuries. It’s philosophy is in cultivating physical, mental and emotional health & wellbeing, and is why more than 15 million people across the world are still practising this ancient tradition.
A daily practice of yoga can restore the natural balance and harmony bringing positive good health to all parts of life – physical, mental & spiritual. It can help to regain or maintain strength and suppleness of the muscles and joints. It can also improve the functions of all the body’s systems.
A typical yoga practice includes a combination of the following elements: Classical Asana posture practice (modified where necessary), breath work, meditation and relaxation.

Movement for bone health
It is never too soon to start looking after your bones. We actually start to lose bone density from our 30’s onwards. According to the Irish Osteoporosis Society 1 in 2 women and 1 in 5 men are affected by osteoporosis from midlife onwards. Weight baring exercise is proven to help improve bone density, which we can incorporate in our daily routine. This class includes resistance work, weight baring practice and isometric stretching to help strengthen both our muscles and our bones. It is suitable for beginners and improvers no matter how much or little Pilates or yoga experience you might have. The class runs Thursdays at 10am for Sept and Oct 2022 . You can purchase our 3 class taster pack for €39 or use an existing class pack. You can attend either online and in studio.
